I quite like the retro-feel of Syundei's works. Since someone mentioned Harada already, I will put in someone else. The things I hate are the tropes a LOT of BL fall into time and time again, not just the rapey stuff, but also a lot of the heteronormative nature of many of the featured relationships. So what I like most about BL as a whole is how diverse it can be I suppose. Not sure if it's still going, but I remember following it for the longest time and it stopped.
Tarako Kotobuki - Sex Pistols (aka Love Pistols) had some really absurd stuff, but it was damn hilarious. I also had good memories of it as I read it with a friend and we were laughing along together. Three Wolves Mountain was the first I read, and it was awesome.
YAOI COMIC FULL
Naono Bohra - always a good romp, the stories are full of great humor and interesting set-ups. But she was a large inspiration for my other completed comic Erie Waters. Her stories have a nice quiet pacing to them and the characters are thoughtful. I also really like Natsume Ono's work, but she isn't as bl/yaoi focused. She's my number one influence for my own series Heavy Horns. I then went on to read all the other work I could find by her.
Sure there was drama, but it wasn't overblown or melodramatic. I liked how every character acted as convincing young adults. The bulk of the book is focused on one couple, and then there are some one-shots after focusing on different pairs. Est Em's Age Called Blue was the first one I reeaaalllly fell in love with.
